Terms & Conditions

1. The Search for 1 litre Champion will take place from 31st October to 12th December 2009.
2. Entry to Challenge is open to Malaysians and permanent residents of Malaysia, 24 years old and above (`Eligible Contestants�). The following category of persons are NOT eligible:
1. Permanent and/or contract employees of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd. (6087-M) (�SMTSB�), Shell Timur Sdn. Bhd. (STSB), Shell Sarawak Berhad (SSB), Affiliates of SMTSB, STSB, SSB, and their immediate family members (spouses, children, parents, brothers and sisters).
2. Representatives, petrol station dealers, related service providers (including advertising agencies, promotion agencies, suppliers and event management agencies) of SMTSB, STSB, SSB, and/or Affiliates of SMTSB, STSB, SSB, their permanent and/or contract employees and their immediate family members (as defined above).
1. For the purpose of this Search �Affiliate� means a company which directly, or indirectly through one or more intermediaries, controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with SMTSB. Relevant to this, �control� means the direct or indirect ownership of an aggregate fifty percent or more of voting capital.
3. Further to Clause 2, Eligible Contestants that participate in this Challenge

2. MUST have at least 2 years of driving experience & a valid driving licence.
3. MUST not have any record of traffic offences in the last 12 months.
4. Participation in the Search for 1 litre Champion. is limited to a maximum of 200 participants per location
4. First 100 BonusLink members to register online will get 100 BonusLink points. It will take about 2-8 weeks to credit the BonusLink points into the account.
5. Further to Clause 3, Eligible Contestants of this Search are required to enter the Elimination Round where contestants will be interviewed and a verification check will be conducted to confirm that contestants have no summonses, before being selected to enter the state final. The dates for individual location are as follows:
6. Only 12 short listed Contestants will be selected from each state to enter the state final, but only 1 Contestant will represent their respective state to compete in the national final.
7. All state finalists & national finalists must NOT be under influence of alcohol and drug when participating in the Search.
8. Upon satisfying the criteria as stated in Clause 5, the Eligible winners will be rewarded the following, subject to the terms and conditions herein:
* State Finalist : 72 x RM300 cash
* State Winners :6 x (RM1,000 petrol voucher + RM2,000 cash)
and
* National Winner : 1 x (RM5,000 petrol voucher + RM45,000 cash )
9. SMTSB (Shell Malaysia Trading Sendirian Berhad) reserve the right at their absolute discretion to vary, delete or add to any of these terms and conditions without prior notice.
10. In the event of unavailability of the prize(s) or any of its component(s) or a change of circumstances, SMTSB reserve the right to substitute the prize(s) or any of its components thereof with any other item of similar value at any time without prior notice
11. SMTSB & judges decision on all matters relating to this contest is final and binding and no correspondence will be entertained.
12. These Terms and Conditions, as may be amended from time to time pursuant to Clause 8 above, shall prevail over any provisions or representations contained in any other promotional material or advertising of this Search.
13. In the event where there is any inconsistency(ies), conflict(s), ambiguity(ies) or discrepancy(ies) between English and Bahasa Malaysia versions of these terms and conditions, the English version of these terms and conditions shall prevail.
14. By submitting a Entry form as per Clause 3above, the Eligible Contestant is deemed to have agreed to:
1. participate in this Search;
2. be bound by the Terms and Conditions herein, including the decisions of SMTSB concerning this Search;
3. SMTSB and their agencies publishing/displaying his/her names, identification number, city of residence, quotes and/or photographs for purposes of publicity, advertising and/or trade without further notice or compensation. Non-acceptance of this clause may result in an alternative winner being chosen.
15. SMTSB reserve the right to cancel, terminate or suspend this Search with or without any prior notice. For the avoidance of doubt, cancellation, termination or suspension by SMTSB of this Search shall not entitle the Eligible Contestants to any claim or compensation against SMTSB for any and all losses or damage suffered or incurred by the Eligible Contestants as a direct or indirect result of the act of cancellation, termination or suspension.
16. In no event will SMTSB be liable for any loss or damages including without limitations, loss of income, profits or goodwill, direct or indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, punitive or special damages of any party including third parties howsoever arising whether in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise, in connection with this Search, even if SMTSB have been advised of the possibility of such damages in advance, and all such damages are expressly excluded.
